A hero Brooklyn man was viciously stabbed trying to stop a thug breaking into his neighbor’s car — but still chased the perpetrator and held him for cops, police sources said.

Michael Sterlacci, 33, of Bensonhurst, caught John Stanzione, 51, in his neighbor’s Ford Explorer at around 1 a.m. Monday, sources said.

Though stabbed in the stomach and bleeding, Sterlacci still chased the suspect down, sources said.
