Reform in Albany?

Count Mayor Bloomberg as one of the many skeptics.

The mayor said today that he doesn’t believe that the reforms Lt. Gov. Dick Ravitch attached to a $9 billion state budget bailout plan will come to pass.

Ravitch’s plan calls for $2 billion in borrowings combined with additional oversight and restrictions on overspending.

“I find it hard to believe that’s going to get through,” said the mayor.

Bloomberg was of two minds on the borrowing.

He called it a “terrible idea” conceptually, but also said Ravitch “deserves a lot of credit for trying to come up with a solution.”
