It’ll soon be time to deliver last rites for beleagured St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mayor Bloomberg predicted today.

Asked on his weekly WOR Radio show if he thought the 160-year Greenwich Village institution would be forced to close, the mayor replied:

“I don’t know. You don’t want to pre-judge. Poeple want to keep it open. It would be great if you could find a ways to do it. I will say, I find it hard to see how you could do that. You might be able to get it through another six months…”

Bloomberg said that the hospital, which has run up $700 million in debt, is losing $5 million to $10 million a month no one would want to take it over without a major restructuring.
