If you’re looking to buy a new domain name, F–kbloomberg.nyc is taken.
A law firm representing former mayor Michael Bloomberg bought up hundreds of Web site names for the new .nyc domain, apparently to prevent cyber punks from creating embarrassing sites such as BloombergBlows.nyc, MikeBloombergisaDweeb.nyc, BloombergMoron.nyc, MrBloombergSucks.nyc and Bloombergistoorich.com according to DomainNameWire.com.
The names also include some that appear to point out the former mayor’s insecurities about his modest stature such as bloombergisashortjew.nyc, and bloombergistooshort.nyc.
Bloomberg’s awkward Spanish-language skills also come to mind with the site name amigosdebloomberg.nyc.
More than 400 domain names have been secured, according to the site.
The .nyc web addresses cost between $25-$40 per year, according to the .nyc Web site, making Blooomberg’s annual payment $10,000 to $16,000 to secure the sites.
A spokeswoman for the former mayor admitted that the massive haul of domain names was a bit excessive.
“This appears to be overly aggressive legal due diligence,” she said in a statement. “We’re only keeping the straightforward addresses.”
