After skipping out on ex Whitney Houston’s funeral, Bobby Brown was back onstage Saturday night — appearing in Connecticut with his group New Edition.

He smiled and seemed energetic, thanking the Mohegan Sun Arena crowd for keeping his spirits up. At one point, he pointed his finger to the sky and said, “Blessings to my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. I love you.”

Earlier in the day, he left Houston’s funeral over what he describes as a seating problem, saying he didn’t want to create a scene after his family’s seats were moved a number of times.

Houston died Feb. 11. A cause of death hasn’t been determined.

Houston and Brown were married 15 years and have one daughter together. Their tumultuous relationship ended in 2007.
