Former New York Met manager Bobby Valentine, now the public-safety director in Stamford, Conn., will reportedly be missing in action attending to more urgent business — broadcasting a baseball game in Texas.

He’ll work the Rangers-Angels game on ESPN, while his hometown battles the worst hurricane in decades, The Stamford Advocate reported. The mayor said he and other officials would remain in town.
