A young boy was scratched on the finger by an apparent bobcat that wandered into his backyard in Fairfield, Connecticut, police said.

The bobcat approached the kid in the yard on Brett Road at about 7:25 a.m. Dec. 16, cops said.

It attacked the 12-year-old boy, who escaped with just a minor finger injury and a torn shirt, according to police.

Video taken by a neighbor about a week before the attack shows the beast calmly pacing in a nearby yard, according to footage released by the Fairfield Police Department.

“This is a very uncommon occurrence and not typical behavior of a bobcat,” the department wrote on Facebook.

“Bobcats are typically very elusive and rarely allow people to get close, which is the opposite of what happened in this incident,” they added.
