Two bodies discovered in the trunk of a car in New York City are believed to be those of a missing New Jersey couple, myFOXny.com reported Thursday.

Evande Orna, 39, and Troy Edwards, 40, left their home in Plainfield, N.J., two weeks ago, telling relatives that they were driving to Richmond, Va.

They were not heard from again, and their rented 2011 silver Nissan Altima was found parked in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

Police have not yet positively identified the two bodies found in the trunk, but they are believed to be those of the couple.

Virginia officials investigating their disappearance said that they believed foul play was involved.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing.
