The body of a 49-year-old man was found in a storm drain near NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan, cops said Tuesday.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found around 11:40 a.m. on 33rd Street and 1st Avenue during a routine inspection by the Department of Environmental Protection, police sources said. The site is part of a hospital expansion project.

The DEP notified authorities of the find. They pronounced him dead at the scene, cops said.

Sources said it appeared the body was dead for a long period of time.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.
