SEASIDE PARK, NJ — The body of one of two swimmers who went missing at the Jersey shore has been recovered in Asbury Park.

The Asbury Park Press reports (http://tinyurl.com/d6jnjqk ) a body believed to be that of a 23-year-old man from Irvington was recovered about 200 yards offshore Thursday morning.

A search continues in Seaside Park for 18-year-old Bestavros Faris of Bayonne.

Seaside Park’s lifeguards begin their season today. The swimmer in Asbury Park went missing in the early evening after lifeguards had gone home for the day.

The Coast Guard is joined by New Jersey State Police and others in the search.
