The embattled executive director of the city’s Board of Elections, Mike Ryan, said Tuesday he will step down from his junket-laden gig advising the manufacturer of city’s ballot scanners.

Ryan made the announcement at the Board of Elections meeting following a report last week by NY1 that he took at least nine trips paid for by Election Systems & Software as part of its national advisory board.

His position on the advisory council was otherwise unpaid.

The trip disclosures followed a Post expose that showed ES&S misled the BOE in a key contract bid document about the scanners vulnerability to humidity, a likely contributor to the massive problems experienced by voters on Election Day.
