Cops have turned over a bone found on a Long Island beach to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, authorities said.
Police did not say whether the bone is related to the remains of four women found in December, Newsday reported today on its website.
The newspaper reported that the bone did not appear to human, but said any official determination would be made by the medical examiner.
Suffolk Department of Health spokeswoman Grace McGovern refused to comment.
The remains found in the weeds off Ocean Parkway were identified last month as being those of four women who were working as hookers when they went missing, Suffolk County police said.
