A 2-year-old boy was critically injured when he was struck by a car after darting into traffic while walking with his mother in Queens on Monday, authorities said.

The mother and son were walking down 196th Street near Northern Boulevard in Auburndale around 2:30 p.m. when the boy ran into the street just as a car was coming, cops said.

The driver remained on scene after the accident.

The boy was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital in critical condition.
