A 6-year-old New Jersey boy who dreams of being a cop helped rescue his father, who was slipping into a diabetic coma, by dialing 911 and saying, “I need you right now.”

Paulo Shor’s dad, Ira, 64, was dressing him for school on Feb. 22 at the family’s Montclair home when the College of Staten Island professor began to lose consciousness.

He told the boy he was OK, but Paulo ignored him and called for help. The local Police Benevolent Association last week gave Paulo the Civilian Service Award.
