ELMSFORD — A 2-year-old boy who was missing after fire swept through a Westchester County home has been found dead in the attic.

Fire officials in the village of Elmsford say flames swept through the two-story house late Saturday night.

Firefighters were unable to locate the child at first after searching the second floor of the unstable structure.

Neighbors say the roof was on fire, with flames coming out the windows.

Authorities say four people on the first floor were injured, including the boy’s mother.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
