A young boy was struck in the face by a foul ball at a Mets game yesterday.
The child, who was sitting near the home team’s dugout, was hit by a line drive off the bat of Florida Marlin Greg Dobbs during the top of the ninth in the first game of a doubleheader.
“I heard his mom screaming, looked back and blood was squirting out of his forehead,” said Mets second-basemen Justin Turner. “I felt sick to my stomach.”
The child suffered a broken nose and was taken to New York Hospital Queens for observation.
