An 11-year-old boy survived a fall from the balcony of a New Jersey apartment building on Wednesday after landing on an adjacent building, police said.

The boy was on a seventh-floor balcony on Prospect Avenue near Central Avenue in Hackensack when he fell at about 12:30 p.m., authorities said.

He landed on the roof of an adjacent restaurant at least five floors below, police said. The boy suffered a broken nose and broken pelvis in the fall and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

The boy’s identity was not immediately released.
