An appeals court stopped the city’s rollout of a taxi e-hail app called Uber yesterday, just a day after it started.
The ruling was a temporary win for black-car companies, which fear e-hail will cut into their business of responding to phone requests for rides. Some companies have their own apps.
An Uber spokesman said its first 24 hours were a “huge day,” but declined to give customer data.
The Appellate Division court said it will decide the case by May 20.
