The NYPD can’t do much about the slew of sex offenders shacking up in homeless shelters across the city, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton insisted Friday.

“That’s really the responsibility of other agencies as to where they live,” the top cop said at a press conference. “Our responsibility is working with those agencies to the best of our abilities.”

These were the commissioner’s first comments since The Post revealed sex fiend Rodney Stover, who allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman in a bar bathroom, was residing at Bellevue Men’s Shelter in Kips Bay — along with a disturbing number of sex criminals.

“The reality is that they’re going to have to live somewhere,” Bratton said.
