An infant girl is in critical condition after suffering from Shaken Baby Syndrome, and authorities are questioning her parents about the injury, police said.

The 1-month-old girl’s father, 27, was watching the baby inside his Fulton Avenue apartment in Morrisania Bronx around 4:30 p.m. Thursday when he noticed she was having trouble breathing, the parents told the police, according to police sources.

The parents took her to Mount Sinai Hospital where doctors noticed severe brain swelling and retinal bleeding, which are indicative of Shaken Baby Syndrome. The hospital alerted cops, who are investigating the possible child abuse, the sources said.

The baby remains in critical condition at the hospital.

No arrests have been made at this time.
