He’s got six aliases, a slew of Social Security identities, a string of arrests from New York City to Florida — and a history of skipping bail.
But when Pedro Miranda, 48, of Manhattan came up before Bronx Judge Joseph Capella on the latest charges in a long criminal career, he skipped out as free as a bird.
Capella inexplicably released Miranda on his own recognizance — denying a request by the Bronx DA’s Office to jail him on $25,000 bail Monday.
Miranda, of Manhattan, was charged with two burglaries last October.
“This is horrible and outrageous,” fumed Vincent Valentino, the executive director of a Bronx Business Improvement District and a retired NYPD detective.
A spokesman for the Bronx DA had no comment on the case yesterday.
