NEW YORK — A New York City man accused of setting a fire that killed a Yonkers firefighter has been charged with murder.
Rafael Roldan of the Bronx was charged with second-degree murder, second-degree arson and other charges in the death of Patrick Joyce. The 16-year veteran was killed while battling a house fire on Oct. 2.
Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced the six-count indictment on Monday.
Two other firefighters were seriously injured in the blaze. All three jumped from the top floor of the three-story house when they became trapped by flames.
Roldan was to be arraigned on Wednesday. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
