A Bronx man was found dead with a gash in his head and cash in a bag, police said Saturday.

The victim, identified as Cesar Mejia, 69, had bruises on both sides of his body and a deep wound to his forehead, police said.

Cops found him on the corner of Bolton Street and Pelham Parkway South at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, just a short distance from his home, police said.

Mejia had on him a “messenger bag containing more than $3,000 and two cellphones,” a police spokesman said.

An investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made in the case.
