A man intentionally set fire to his apartment in the Bronx on Friday, injuring over 10 people in the building, including a 10-year-old child, police said.

Cops first responded to the 9 a.m. fire on West 242nd Street in Riverdale after a passerby flagged them down, according to authorities.

The officers attempted to enter the first-floor apartment but were unable to get in because of smoke, police said.

Firefighters and EMS eventually entered the apartment and removed the man, cops said.

Dramatic video posted to Citizen shows firemen trying to evacuate residents and combat the dark smoke coming from the apartment.

EMS rushed the 10-year-old to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital and four adults to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition, police said. At least six other residents of the building were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
