A man was shot by police during a chase in the Bronx on Wednesday night that left a woman and 12-year-old girl injured, sources said.

The suspect was wearing a mask and carrying a bag of drugs when cops confronted him in Kingsbridge Heights at around 6 p.m., according to law enforcement sources.

Instead of obeying police commands the suspect pulled out his firearm and took a shot at the cops before fleeing, leading to a chase and shootout, the sources said.

The suspect was shot in the neck by a police officer and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

“I heard a bunch of shots,” said a resident on Loring Place North, where the incident took place. “About 10 to 15 — seemed like a back-and-forth thing.”

Two innocent victims — a woman and 12-year-old girl — were caught in the crossfire.

The woman was in serious condition after being shot in the stomach. The 12-year-old had been struck by bullet fragments, cops said.

Chief of Department Terence Monahan said the suspect had just robbed a drug dealer and fired his gun in the lobby of a nearby building before confronting police.

“We reviewed video surveillance that shows the suspect committing what appears to be a drug ripoff in the lobby of 98 West 183rd street,” Monahan told reporters Wednesday night.

“The video also shows the suspect firing his gun at the individuals in that lobby.”

Police recovered a .45-caliber handgun and a kilo of unspecified drugs.

No officers appear to have been injured in the melee.
