A city councilman wants to shine some light on tanning-salon practices.

Bronx Democrat James Vacca is introducing a measure tomorrow that would require the salons to post signs announcing the risk of skin cancer. The legislation would also ban the salons from offering student discounts and other promotions aimed at youth, and from producing ads indicating tanning beds are safe.
