Bronx and Queens parents have been woefully underserved by charter-school expansion despite growing demand, according to a new report.

The New York Charter School Center found that the northeast and central Bronx — along with Jamaica and Jackson Heights in Queens — host just 12 of the city’s 191 charter schools.

Despite their sparse options, families in these sections accounted for 37,328 charter applications for next year, the report found.

NYCCS said these communities are saddled with low-performing district schools and that parents are desperate for alternatives.

Roughly 13,000 applications were submitted in the northeast-Bronx cluster alone for only 410 total seats next year, the report found.

More than 18,000 applications were filled out in the central Bronx district, according to NYCCS.
