A Bronx school dean was arrested for slamming a special-needs student who skipped the lunch line into a metal table, cops said Saturday.
Melvin Wigfall, 42, was charged with assault Friday after allegedly attacking a teenage boy at P.S. 17X on Forest Avenue in Woodstock, sources said.
The assault unfolded just after 13-year-old had been spotted cutting the line for lunch Tuesday, according to police.
When Wigfall told the boy to go to the back of the line, he protested — and the irate teacher grabbed him, slamming him into a metal table repeatedly and putting his fist to the boy’s neck, authorities said.
The student suffered bruising and pain, and later reported the incident the police.
“The school immediately reported these deeply concerning allegations, and this individual has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal investigation,” a Department of Education spokesperson said in a statement.
