Bronx storm was a tornado
Call it Kansas on the Hudson.
The violent storm that blew into The Bronx Sunday afternoon included a tornado with 100-mph winds that ripped through part of Riverdale and left seven people with minor injuries, according to AccuWeather.
The 100-yard-wide twister touched down about 2:50 p.m. and cut a destructive path across a little more than half a mile along the Hudson River before lifting 10 minutes later.
It was the first tornado to hit The Bronx since 1974, according to the National Weather Service.
