A Bronx woman was clinging to life Saturday after her boyfriend allegedly attacked her with a machete, police said.

Hector Delacruz, 27, of New Jersey, allegedly hacked his 20-year-old girlfriend late Friday night inside an apartment on Grand Concourse near East 196th Street, in the Fordham Manor neighborhood, authorities said.

The woman had been stabbed in her neck and back; she was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, cops said.

Delacruz was arrested less than an hour after the 11 p.m. stabbing and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.

He was being treated at North Central Bronx Hospital Saturday afternoon, although it was unclear whether he’d been injured in the attack, cops said.

It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the alleged domestic assault.

Police and detectives were seen knocking on doors in the Grand Concourse apartment on Saturday.

One woman in the building who said she knew the victim told The Post the young mother had moved to the Bronx apartment to “get away from her boyfriend who was harassing her.”

They were “living a quiet life” in the building until the boyfriend “showed up,” she said.

The woman added that the victim was “a good mother to her daughter.”

Another neighbor described the scene after the machete attack.

“She was crying screaming for help … we all felt so bad; we couldn’t see who did it, just that she was hurt,” the neighbor said. “There was a lot of blood.”
