A tree toppled in a parking lot at the Bronx Zoo yesterday, obliterating three luckily unoccupied cars, police said.

The accident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. in the Asia Parking Lot near Jungle World.

A 2002 Acura, a 2004 Hyundai and a 2005 Dodge were crushed.

Zoo officials initially denied that any mishap had occurred, although police sources confirmed it did, and said no one was injured.

Later, a spokeswoman for the Wildlife Conservation Society, who refused to give her name, said “it may have been a branch that fell.”

A falling tree branch was responsible for the 2010 death of a 6-month-old baby girl — and the permanent injury of her mom — at the Central Park Zoo, also run by the WCS.

The tragedy occurred as Karla Del Gallo and her infant daughter, Gianna, were posing for a picture.
