One person was killed when a fire tore through a home in Brooklyn on Monday evening, officials said.

The flames erupted in the three-story home on Fenimore Street in Prospect-Lefferts Garden at around 6 p.m., according to fire officials.

One person was declared dead at the scene and another civilian suffered smoke inhalation from the fire.

The deceased was not identified Monday evening.

A total of seven firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

The blaze was extinguished at around 7:30 p.m.
