.

“I was incredulous,” a 35-year-old Williamsburg resident told Eater last week, after eating what he thought was the Impossible Whopper.

“It’s maybe 20-percent poisoning. This is a city where there are a lot of reasons why people don’t eat [meat], from religion to health to ethics.”

He said he found out that the Impossible Whopper was a fake after he went into the restaurant at a later date, and was told by staff that they never sold it.

The restaurant has now stopped listing the vegan burger on its Seamless and Grubhub pages. A spokesman for Burger King blamed the issue on “a technology error” from a franchisee.
