He’s not a lawyer, but he played one in court.
A former Brooklyn district leader was convicted yesterday of pretending to be a lawyer at a relative’s arraignment last year.
Ralph Perfetto, 77, handed in a “notice of appearance” form at the arraignment of Anthony Martire, putting his name in the space for attorney, but adding “PI” for private investigator after his name.
He submitted paperwork, and actually set up a return date while in the courtroom — but he said he was simply responding to court personnel, and not acting as a lawyer.
