A woman died when a fire erupted inside her Brooklyn home early Monday, authorities said.
The blaze broke out at the two-story home on East 49th Street in Flatlands just after 1 a.m. Firefighters pulled 67-year-old Esther Gee from the building and rushed her to Beth Israel Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
Gee was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals, an FDNY spokesman said. FDNY personnel also rescued a dog from the building and provided the pooch with oxygen, video posted to Twitter shows.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
