A New York City man is facing rape, assault and unlawful imprisonment charges after a woman says she was held as his sex slave for days.

John Hopkins was due in Brooklyn court Friday. He was arrested after police got a tip that he was holding a woman captive.

The woman says she met him on Craigslist while she was moving from Wisconsin and looking for a New York apartment.

She said she agreed to cook and clean in exchange for free rent. She told police that, instead, she was handcuffed and attacked for eight days.

Authorities said the woman left the apartment at least once to go to work, and returned.

It’s not clear who is representing Hopkins.
