In a freak Brooklyn accident, an 88-year-old woman was fatally struck by her own car in her Bay Ridge driveway Saturday night.
Alba Mazza had driven her white Hyundai Kona up to the garage of her building on 96th Street near Shore Road in Bay Ridge at around 5:50 p.m., police said.
She got out of the car and opened her garage door — but the car suddenly rolled forward and crushed her, they said.
Police found Mazza on the ground with trauma to her body, cops said.
She was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where she was pronounced dead.
Mazza was “a nice old lady,” said a downstairs neighbor.
“She taught music lessons for years. Piano and also trumpet, I think.” He paused. “This has been just horrible.”
