A Brooklyn woman who allegedly starved and beat her 4-year-old daughter while keeping the child tied to her bed has been indicted on murder charges, the Brooklyn DA announced today.

Carlotta Brett-Pierce also force-fed the child over the counter medications like Claritin and diphenhydramine, the indictment alleges.

The child, Marchella Pierce, weighed just 18 pounds when authorities found her inside the family’s Bed-Stuy apartment.

Brett-Pierce faces up to 25 years to life on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and child endangerment. She was previously charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment and will have to face those counts as well.

A spokesman for Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes said an investigation regarding the city’s Administration for Children’s Services and an upstate pediatric hospital that treated Marchella is continuing.
