After roaming the jungleland of bad publicity, Rutgers students want to be delivered to Bruce Springsteen’s “Promised Land.”
The students are lobbying The Boss to visit their school in hopes of healing the p.r. beatdown their school suffered when “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi appeared on campus for a $32,000 fee — a higher payday than Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison got to address graduates there.
In an homage to Springsteen’s “10th Avenue Freeze Out,” students have created a Facebook page titled “COLLEGE AVE FREEZE OUT: LET’S BRING THE BOSS TO RUTGERS!”
“Bruce Springsteen epitomizes New Jersey,” said junior Paul Tanquilli, who referenced the Rutgers tagline “Jersey Roots, Global Reach.”
