A perfect day for fun at the shore was ruined at 17 beaches in Nassau County yesterday that were closed because of bacteria levels.

Four South Shore beaches and 13 beaches on the North Shore were blocked off because of contaminated stormwater runoff after heavy rainfall Friday night.
