Winter doesn’t officially get here for another week — but the deep freeze arrives today.

The thermometer will plunge nearly 20 degrees from yesterday’s highs into frigid arctic-like weather today and tonight, forecasters said.

Today’s high may reach a freezing 32 degrees — and, thanks to sustained 20-mph winds and gusts of more than 40 mph — it will feel like less than 10 degrees.

Tonight’s forecast is for lows of about 17 degrees — and, with the wind, it will feel like only 3.

But it gets better — gradually — as daytime highs hit around 33 tomorrow, 38 on Thursday and then 43 on Friday, forecasters say.
