Dorota TrecKristy LeibowitzBrooklyn’s notorious bunny hoarder went bonkers in court Monday.
Cottontail-obsessed Dorota Trec, clad in zebra print leggings and heeled sandals, clattered into the courtroom nearly an hour after her scheduled appearance, despite being warned about tardiness by the judge during at a previous hearing.
Upon observing that Brooklyn Criminal Court Justice Curtis Farber had continued on without her, the 36-year-old huffily took a seat in the back of the gallery — and was promptly thrown out by a court officer for making a phone call.
Trec then stuck her head in and out of the courtroom repeatedly, scowling heavily at the packed pews of animal rights activists who turned out for Monday’s proceeding.
The Gowanus woman was later seen screaming at a law clerk for no apparent reason in the hallway.
When her case was finally called, the rabid rabbit fan flew off the handle at the judge, babbling incoherently about a “speedy trial” as he attempted to address the prosecutor in the case.
Judge Farber was eventually forced to turn to her and bellow “No one’s listening to a word you’re saying!”
“We will give you a chance to speak if it’s anything relevant,” he concluded sternly, shutting her down.
Trec, animal rights activists, and the court are scheduled to reconvene Aug. 17 in order to finally set a date for trial.
The self-proclaimed bunny lover is facing trial on charges animal cruelty, after authorities began seizing a perpetual menagerie of nearly 200 hares from her backyard in Jan. 2015.
