A trio of burglars smashed the front door of the high-end Tourneau Jewelers on Madison Avenue in Manhattan early Monday and then shattered display cases — absconding with an unknown number of pricey timepieces in a matter of two minutes, the NYPD said.
The burglars struck around midnight at the store at 510 Madison Ave., smashing open five display cases in a heist that lasted all of two minutes, cops said. Store employees were doing an inventory in the aftermath to determine how many watches were taken and what their value was, cops said.
The watches range in price from a four figures to $25,000, according to the store’s website.
“If they got away with at least five or six of them, that’s probably over $100,000,” a police source said. “That’s a lot of money.”
The three crooks were caught on video surveillance smashing the front door, police sources said.
