A bus company that was involved in a deadly hit-and-run has been illegally operating for months in lower Manhattan, officials said.

Yep Tours — which also caught flak over an onboard fire and a driver who was videotaped texting by a passenger — has been picking up fares in Chinatown even though the DOT denied the company’s permit application to operate in Manhattan this summer.

Residents say the neighborhood has turned into the wild west of buses, with legal and illegal coaches on almost every corner.

“This is a highly illegal practice and it’s no different than dealing drugs on the street,” said Chad Marlow, who serves on Community Board 3.

The board plans to hold a meeting on the issue Tuesday night.
