An MTA bus driver was struck and killed yesterday while crossing the street to get to work in Brooklyn, officials said.

James Neverson, 63, had just parked his car and stepped into the intersection of Alabama and East New York avenues when he was hit at about 7 a.m., officials said.

A hardworking immigrant from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Neverson was headed to the East New York Depot at 1 Jamaica Ave. when he was struck by a 1995 Toyota sedan headed north on Alabama, authorities said.

Neverson, a 21-year MTA vet, was the father of four grown kids.

Police said the Toyota driver remained on the scene and is not likely to face criminal charges.
