Pedestrians have been given the green light to pound the pavement safely – thanks to a new traffic signal at a busy intersection in Canarsie.
Area officials joined grassroots leaders, and local pre-K and Head Start students to install the sign at Farragut Road and East 78th Street.
The light was approved by the Department of Transportation through the joint efforts of Assemblymember Helene Weinstein, Councilmember Lew Fidler and Gardy Brazela, president of Friends United Block Association (FUBA).
