Police arrested a New Jersey woman as she attempted to flee on a jitney-style bus from holding a clothing store up with a butcher knife.

Nicole Travers, 32, allegedly tried to rob a Mandee clothing store Tuesday in Paramus but her plan was foiled by a snafu with the cash register, NJ.com reported.

“The cashier reported she was unable to open the cash drawer so the suspect fled, discarding the knife in the parking lot and boarding a jitney-style bus,” police told the news outlet.

Officers responded to the 911 call about the incident around 2 p.m. Tuesday and pulled over the bus she boarded to arrest her.

The robbery attempt would have been Travers’ second heist in two weeks, authorities said. She also is accused of visiting an Abercrombie & Fitch Kids store May 16 in Westfield Garden Plaza, where she wielded a butcher knife and snatched about $900 from the register.

She faces charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree attempted robbery and fourth-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
