A crazed hit-and-run driver grabbed an officer’s gun and tried to kill him during a dramatic arrest in The Bronx yesterday, a law- enforcement source said.

The officer and a sergeant were on narcotics duty in an unmarked car when they spotted the driver sideswipe a vehicle and then hit a 51-year-old pedestrian at 10:30 a.m. on East Tremont Avenue, the source said.

The cops chased the 25-year-old driver and rammed him a few blocks away. He tried to escape through the passenger-side window.

During the ensuing struggle, the perp ripped the officer’s gun belt, took his weapon and pointed it at the cop’s face.

The officer grabbed the gun, causing the bullet to miss when it was fired.

The cop also managed to wrap his hand around the sliding mechanism, making the weapon jam when the suspect tried to fire again, the source said.

It took eight more cops to subdue the suspect.

The sergeant and the officer sustained cuts, and the pedestrian suffered a broken leg.
