A Bronx man is charged with trying to commandeer a subway train — using a screwdriver.

According to a grand-jury indictment announced yesterday, 42-year-old Richard Arrocho entered the motorman’s cab and lunged at him with the weapon.

Prosecutors say that during the July 22 attack, the two men struggled while Arrocho managed to increase the speed of the northbound No. 5 train moving toward the Jackson Avenue station.

The motorman regained control and brought the train safely in.
