A missing Egyptian cobra forced the Bronx Zoo to close its Reptile House exhibit.

Zoo officials said they believe the poisonous animal, about 20 inches long, was confined in a nonpublic area of the Reptile House on Friday, a spokeswoman said.

“We are informing the public out of an abundance of caution,” the zoo said in a statement.
